African Print

The Mayor of London held the first ever ‘Africa on the Square’ event in Trafalgar Square a couple months back, and although I got to the event late (meaning I missed out on one of the only things I was there for… the food), I still managed to pick up this African print crop top from a Jekkah stall with a little bit of encouragement from my flatmate and my boyfriend.

I honestly wear skirts or leggings so often that when I wear jeans, it’s not out of the ordinary for someone to comment on how unusual it is of me to wearing them. Aside from the fact that I’m just a fan of skirts and dresses, a good pair of jeans is honestly so hard to find. The search for good quality jeans for me was so hard that I think I just gave up last year. Any jeans bought would either rip, or get white specks on them after a day’s use that even the washing machine can’t get rid. This year someone in one of my classes recommended I try Topshop, probably one of the most obvious places to check out, but I’d always heard through the grape vine that Topshop jeans were very expensive so I never tried them out. Clearly late to jump on the wave, I finally bought a pair of blue Joni jeans and black Jaimie jeans, and given their quality, they really aren’t too expensive.

I styled this crop top with blue Jaimie jeans, making for a more out of character, slightly more colourful outfit for me. Finally, I topped it all off with this black Topshop bomber which I am definitely obsessed with right now, I wear it almost everyday, even when the weather doesn’t permit…

  1. I love the african top! I love how you’ve managed to pull it off in winter as well haha, I know the struggle with jeans, I just find them so uncomfortable because it’s so hard to find the correct fit šŸ™ Will deffo try out topshop soon though!

  2. I love your entire outfit! I love the crop top, it’s so summery! I used to have that bomber but returned it because the back for me kept sticking out? I don’t know if it was just too big for me but I have found alternatives!

I USED TO BE EXACTLY THE SAME! But now I wear jeans a lot more because I found the perfect ones – you should try some from misguided!
