Red Velvet

At my uni, you usually do four modules a term; but the way things have worked out this year, I had three modules to do last term and have five to do this term. It’s safe to say I am absolutely drowning in work. Although I haven’t really had much time to post, I’ve still be able to tweak the layout over here a little bit. I’ve really just made a few changes I’ve been wanting to make for a long time – including the removal on my sidebar, an increase in the size of my images, and a change to my slideshow header that makes it span the width of the page. I think it has all made my blog look a lot more professional, so I’m really happy with the changes. I design and code all my own layouts, I started off in webdesign before I got into blogging, so putting together my own blog designs and the occasional website design and code for a society at my uni is really the only way I get to delve back into that world.

In other news – Happy Valentine’s Day! I don’t necessarily see Valentine’s Day as the biggest deal, but you can’t really hate a day that’s all about love, be it love for you other half, family or friends. I’m off on a Thames Cruise today, I actually got the idea to go on a cruise from a travel blog, found £7 student tickets online, and immediately booked a pair for me and my boyfriend.

The outfit below was not intended for Valentine’s Day (view my Valentine’s Day Lookbook), but given the emphasis on red and the addition of the faux fur it could definitely work for a casual Valentine’s Day date.

This red velvet crop top was probably not ideal for the weather, that’s suddenly gotten extremely cold here in London, but it’s one of my favourite tops at the moment and was actually even my choice for Christmas day. I paired it with some ripped jeans from Topshop. The perfect thing about high wasted jeans is that they work well with any top you may chose to wear. I’ve also been wanting ripped jeans for a while now, and these are definitely a good quality pair. However, I’m definitely in need of a new pair of Chelsea boots. Finally, I paired it with this faux fur jacket from Lasula Boutique to add a girly touch.

Hope you guys like this outfit, and have a wonderful day however it is you decide to spread the loveeee.
