Temple Pier

I got this pink coat just over a year ago from New Look after working with them on a blog post and I’m still just as in love with it now as I was back then. Because of the material I didn’t think it would really last for that long before looking extremely tattered but it’s actually hanging in there in better quality than most of my coats. I’ve featured it on this blog probably one too many times (I am due a big shop), but it’s always my go-to when I’m wearing outfit that’s maybe just a little too plain, as was the case here…

The crop top here is another wardrobe staple from Asos. Once upon a time I was genuinely too scared to ever wear crop tops, and although I’m not necessarily in the best shape (I’m trying to get there by June…), they seem to be pretty much all I wear these days, even when it is crazily cold.

I turned 21 this weekend! I threw a party with one of my friends and I’ll be honest, the night was a bit of a blur, but from what I can remember – I had a really good time. I brought in my 18th birthday with a party a few years back so it was really nice to bring in this next milestone with a party too. I guess my next big birthday will be when I’m 25 and well on my way to being an oldie. We had a photographer on the night, so when those photos are up I’ll definitely share them on Skylish and do a nice, big, soppy reflective post. We were able to book our own private room in Holborn’s Sway bar, and the turnout was really good with the dance floor constantly packed. However, as for Sway bar themselves I must be honest and say I was so disappointed with their service. I really don’t like to bash brands on this blog, but I always think it’s a good idea to use your voice if you have a platform to do so. The employees were ridiculously rude, constantly pressuring me and my friend about the minimum spend, storming across the dance floor and really killing the vibes of the party. I would absolutely not recommend anyone looking to host a private party do so at this venue if you’re hoping to do this in Central London, there are so many other (better) places with hopefully more polite staff you can go to!

I’ve got quite a few cool posts/things planned and in the works for the next few weeks! One thing I’ll be starting is advice posts answering anonymous questions (if you have a question e-mail admin@skylish.co.uk) and I’m also going to start investing in a few bits and bobs to start my own YouTube channel after exams pass. My boyfriend and I are also working on a new project/media platform which will (hopefully) launch soon, that I’m also very excited about, so definitely keep your eyes peeled for all that good stuff.

  1. I love your boots! You always have such great outfits – I wish I had your sense of style! My go-to outfit is literally just a pair of jeans and a top, ‘cos I’m really bad at pairing things.

Happy belated birthday! Hope you managed to enjoy it, despite the rude staff. I’ve known a few places to be rude about money, especially when you’re young and they just assume you’re not going to be able to foot the bill. It’s absolutely ridiculous. The service should be the same for everyone, and if they were a good company it would be!
