HMV, fbloggers, fashion, style, boujee, bad and boujee

A quick one from me today – featuring what can only be described as the boujee-est jacket I’ve ever owned. I’d been on the search for a faux fur jacket for multiple months before my mum helpfully gifted this to me on my 22nd birthday just passed. It definitely will take some getting used to – as you can see, it’s not quite the usual style you see from people walking down the road as it is definitely quite ‘out there’ – but I love it!

Jacket – Gina Bacconi
Trousers – River Island
Boots* – JDW Fashion

“Boujee”noun. An abbreviation of the French “bourgeois.” A critical term used to describe people, things, and places that are definitively high-class. Something that is affected, inauthentic, exclusive, and/or otherwise sheltered from the dirt and grime of the real world.

The jacket has its own silver accents, which I decided to further highlight with the addition of the silver jewellery pieces. I teamed the look up with my River Island leather-look leggings which I purchased not too long ago – as it only makes sense to go all in, if you’re going to go all out!

Faux Fur Picks

Of course, the only thing I could find to accompany the boujee jacket in this post – was something also as boujee (but this time, on the music side of things). Playing homage what has (thus far) been a year of great music – from Drake, to Kendrick, to the rise of UK music and more – I wanted to share some of my favourite bits and pieces from HMV that’ll make the eyes of any music lover light up. With the disposal of traditional CDs and rise in downloadable music, one thing you can trust not be go out of style any time soon for the old school music lovers (like myself) – is a classic turntable. But HMV takes it a step further – it’s less about just sitting back and listening to music, and more about using new technologies we have to mix and match way more exciting music that would’ve been the case some years back. If it sounds like I’m selling their turntables to you – you’d be right, because these tables are simply amazing. My favourite picks from HMV include the LED turntable (because who doesn’t like the addition of funky lights?), the Memphis turntable (comes with a built in amplifier and speaker), and of course the Elemental turntable (just because of how easy it would be to carry it around). Comparing this to the traditional headphone technology we’re more used to these days – not only are these the boujee alternative, they’re actually the better alternative.

What would you say is the ‘boujee-est’ item you own?

  1. I actually really love this look and love it when I see people rocking it! I think the only times I’ve seen people wear it was in London when I went, but I really do adore the style! If I’m ever feeling brave, I might invest. This one you have is gorgeous!

Your mum made an awesome choice 😉
