This is the story that lead to me recieving this concealer:
A little while ago, whilst sitting with a few friends, someone must have said something shocking and one of my friends blurted out ‘<ins>OMGHHKP!</ins>‘ (Which Blair Fowler of JuicyStar07 says). Everyone looked at her with expressions that showed they didn’t get it, but I laughed along and said, “I actually know where you got that from.” And then began our discussions of YouTube Gurus, make up and everything beauty related.

In one of these discussions, she told me about a MAC concealer she had purchased whilst tan which did suit her colour any more. As she has decided she no longer wants to tan, it will never suit her colour again.

“Do you want it?”
HELLSSS YEAH.

It’s in the colour NC 45. It’s not too light for my skin tone, and as it’s concealer it should be slightly lighter than your skin tone anyway (I’m an NW 45); if it ever looks much too light, I’ll mix it with a bit of my Dream Matte Mousse in the colour cocoa.

When I apply my concealer, depending on how I feel I either use my middle finger to tap it in, or a small foundation brush. I apply my concealer in a triangular shape (see below), as it brightens up your face, and I blend it in using my beauty blender, this is a technique I learned from Gossmakeupartist

Needless to say, the concealer is of great quality. It keeps your under eye area looking bright for hours, and only a small amount is needed to make such a big difference. It’s very easy to apply, and very easy to blend in, and if I haven’t already mentioned it – it lasts. No cracks, no crevices… a nice smooth finish. I have heard of people to say it is cakey, however to avoid the cake do not apply too much concealer (this concealer is of light coverage), and also always remember to blend it in. When it comes to make up, blending is the key.

I’m not sure of its price as this was free, however if it is too pricey for my budget when I feel to renew the concealer, a concealer I really want to try is one from Collection 2000! I’ve heard good things about their concealer. I love concealer, so unlike foundation, nail polishes and blushes, where I find a favourite and (sometimes) stick to it, I always try out different concealers. At the moment I’ve tried some from Elf, Mac, L’Oreal and Maybelleine. They have all been quite good, bar the one from Elf.

                (5/5)

As everybody knows, drinking water is important for our health, lifestyle and future. Our bodies consist of up to 60% water as adults and 75% as babies, so really, we need water every single day of our lives to ensure our survival.

The Facts

The NHS recommends that to avoid dehydration, we should drink around 1.2 litres of water every single day. That’s the equivalent of around <ins>eight</ins> 150ml glasses of liquid. Of course, many of us (including myself) struggle to reach this figure, however there are still ways to keep our bodies flowing with the clear, natural goodness of water.

Buying bottled water from shops on the way to school or work is a great way to keep yourself tanked up for the day ahead. It’s a good idea to keep your bottle and reuse it throughout the week, as this way you save both money and time. Many people use their bottles for long periods of time, often filling them up at school (or work) with a water cooler. Water coolers are excellent as they are a hygienic and easy to access source of water. plumbed-in water coolers by Thirsty 4 Water offer a great alternative for any office water drinker.

But what are the benefits of drinking water?
There are many! One of the most obvious ones however, is that water is absolutely fabulous for our skin. For those of us who suffer from dry skin, besides the average high street moisturiser, water lends a natural and powerful helping hand. We all want to look after our skin, and often don’t realise how much of an indicator our most exposed organ is to the well being of our health; the more healthy your skin looks, the more hydrated it is and the more healthy you quite probably are.

As well as its health benefits, water increases your energy and offers a natural internal spring that your body will be grateful for – bloating and puffiness evaporate as the liquid enters our bodies, it helps to carry nutrients to every cell in the body as well as flushing out any toxins and improves the circulation around the body.

Taking into account what water does for us and our skin – I think we could all manage to drink at least 1.2 litres a day. Who’s with me?

The other day I had Fashion Police on in the background whilst I browsed the internet, and their “Gotta Have it!/Make it Stop!” segment was on printed trousers (pants). I decided to look more into the trend, and have seen examples of the Spring trend on bloggers and celebrities, although I am yet to come across life examples.

I love the trend! I think it dresses up an outfit and is daring – if worn in the right way.

Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens and Beyonce Knowles have all tried out the trend.

Perhaps obvious, a tip when sporting this trend is to keep the rest of the outfit fairly simple – you don’t want to look like a <ins>clown</ins>. Dressing them up with heels also adds a touch of glamour.

I’m considering getting my own pair, however it’d have to be a more subtle pattern than some of these displayed. If I do get some, I’d probably wear them to say a casual party (with heels for definite), rather than generally out and about. Firstly though, I shall wait for my wet look leggings to arrive in the post hehe.

What do you think of the printed trousers trend?

A recent love of mine has been a nice, fitted blazer. Blazers can dress up any casual look and take you from everyday to glamorous. Not only can find blazers in several colours, styles (eg. a waterfall blazer) and lengths, but due to their extreme versatility, they can be slapped on top of any outfit. In many of my OOTD posts it is likely that you have spotted me rocking a black blazer, and recently I have switched things up and purchase a white blazer from Forever21.

The blazer as far as I can remember was around £20-25? The sleeves are three quarter length. I don’t shop at Forever21 much, but it seems to be of good quality. There’s only one bad thing about white blazers – they get dirty so easily.

Kim Kardashian’s rainbow of blazers

Kim Kardashian wears blazers often, and if you know me you know that I love Kim’s sense of style. Rocking both bright and neutral colours, she tends to wear blazers with a lot of her outfits to take them from casual to chic.

A good thing about this beauty blog is that it’s so easy to update and put together a post! I’ve got another outfit of the day, with the picture taken a few days ago. I had this abandoned minnie mouse top hanging in my closet and I decided I’d throw it on and smarten it up!

I teamed the shirt up with a skater skirt from House of Fraser which I tucked it into, I purchased this skirt recently and I <ins>laav</ins> it, the plan really is to mainly wear it for school.

The minnie mouse top (can’t remember where from) is one I’ve had for years! Probably since around 2008/9. I thought it would be a cute addition to my outfit as it added a little bit of playfulnss to the ‘smartness’.

The skirt also came with this wonderful belt. And to top it off I bought on sale for around £22-5 or so.

I’ve never truly been a style person, my thing has always just been make up, purely make up… with fashion and hair a more alien to me. But since I opened up this blog and discovered other style blogs, I’ve gotten a lot more into it and I feel like I’ve developed my own personal style. I can see a top and know what I’d pair it with, and I can also feel confident with my choices. I have confidence in my style to maybe tell a friend whilst out shopping that ‘I don’t like that top’, without needing to wonder ‘but should I?’ If that makes sense?

Ahh… Cheesyness.

Adios.

Hey guyyss. The weather is getting sunnier at lasttt and I was finally able to abandon my coat a good few weeks ago! This outfit was worn yesterday during trip up to central London for a convention – smart casual was what I was going for.

This outfit was probably mainly from Next, hehe. The ring I wore with it (picture of this ring didn’t turn out well), was from Dorothy Perkins.

Now, for the more exciting news – I have braces. I’ve had them on since Monday and I feel I have developed a love, hate relationship with my braces. I don’t actually mind how they look (of course I would prefer not to have them on), but my main problem is that they are so uncomfortable. Everyone I have talked to said the discomfort will last for a few weeks and then you forget they’re there.

Moreeee on my braces, a lot of my friends have asked me why I even bothered, my teeth really aren’t that bad. But there are a few bent-ish, sticky-out-ish teeth that need to be fixed. My teeth were over crowded I believe, so in the past month I’ve had four teeth removed (two top, two bottom), to make room for my teeth to move. I should not have these braces on for over a year. The plan at the moment is 10 months, but you never know what will happen.

I have Damon Braces. Recently accepted by the NHS, these are a new type of braces that make teeth moving quicker and less painful. I have had them on for a few days and I have already genuienly noticed changes it’s amazing.

That’s it for my braces!! Any questions – ask away, and at the end of these (hopefully) few months, I shall blog about the whole experience.

If you suffer from acne or greasy skin, then you will know how difficult it can be to try and make your complexion look smooth and clear. This is why I have put together a healthy skin guide which will show you how you can improve your complexion.

If you’ve spent so many evenings in front of the mirror trying out new spot creams and products instead of going out with your friends, or having them over to play FoxyBingo and watch movies because you are embarrassed of your blemishes, then you might be interested in reading my top three skin tips below.

Tip 1 – Asses your diet

It is a known fact that junk food makes your skin very greasy. So take a look at your diet and try to avoid fast foods like chips, pizza and greasy cakes for a couple of weeks and see if it makes a difference. In addition, drinking plenty of water will help keep your skin clear and hydrated. If your skin is very dry, then try and drink more water, as well as eating lots of fruit and vegetables. Healthy foods provide plenty of vitamins which help promote healthy skin.

Tip 2 – Tackle greasy skin

If you suffer from greasy and shiny skin, be sure to clean off your make up each night before you go to sleep. Leaving your make up on for too long can cause spots because it clogs up your pores and doesn’t allow them to breathe. If you moisturise, be sure to use a light, runny cream rather than thick, greasy body butter.

Tip 3 – Know what make up suits you

If you have dry skin, try using a moisturising tinted foundation – this will not only cover up blemishes but it will also hydrate you skin. On the other hand, if you have greasy skin, avoid thick foundations and opt for a light powder instead. The powder will also help to eliminate shiny patches of skin.

We all have our little beauty secrets: that one trick we do to get that spot away by the morning, or that little thing we put in our hair when treated to a bad hair day; in this tag, I will share some of my secrets with you. This tag was started by Beauty Crush.

1. What is one product that makes you feel like a million dollars?
I always feel good after I’ve put all my make up on and top it off with a good ol’ <ins>blusher</ins> and <ins>highlighter</ins>! I’d say a highlighter on my cheek bones and nose bridge more than anything makes me feel glamorous! I actually use a brownish/goldish shimmery eye shadow for my highlighter, which is by No7 in the colour 65 Truffle.

2. What is your skincare secret? / A passed down skin care tip?
My secret to good skin in the Clearasil Ultra Deep Pore Treatment Wash. And this is how I know for sure now that it gives me good skin – I didn’t use it for two weeks (it ran out, so I used my Clearasil face scrub instead), 3 ugly spots popped up onto my skin. I bought a new one from Boots, and two days later they were all gone. True story.

3. Share your hair care secret?
Hmmm. I don’t really have one. I think it’s alwayssss good to treat your hair and get a GOOD hair dresser who will help to keep it strong and healthy for you.

4. What is your biggest diet rule?
I don’t really diet. But I’ve noticed that cutting off irrelevant things from your diet (ie. No chocolate bars/crisps/no weekly trip to Maccy Ds or the local Fish and Chips shop), even if not completely (I could never cut Maccy Ds off completely, hehe) helps shed some pounds.

5. Any workout tips?
Have fun when you work out! Learn a dance, or do some Zumbaaaa.

6. Which perfume is your secret weapon?
I switch up my perfume every day, but I’ve always been a fan of Britney Spears’ Curious perfume.

7. Show us a clothing item of yours which always turns heads?

I get a lot of completely on these.

8. What is your most treasured piece of jewellery?
I would say… a golden necklace with a pink butterfly on it. I kinda of treasure a lot of my jewellery equally, but I looked up and saw this one first. I’d die if I lost this necklace:

9. Who is your style crush?
Kim Kardashian. I absolutely lovee her style!

10. Tell us something we don’t know about you…
I plan to go to Uni to study either Economics or Accounting and Finance. Yeeyuhh.

A lot of the time we are told what we should and should not do in relation to beauty and makeup and we accept it. But sometimes you have to wonder about the truth behind these statements – and in this blog I’m going to break down three common beauty and makeup misconceptions.

Black eye liner makes your eyes look small

Not necessarily. Black eyeliner I’ve found can make your eyes look small when you line your waterline, and sometimes even smudging this out a bit will lessen the effect. However, if you line halfway into your waterline, or halfway/three quarters below your waterline, this isn’t the case, and it can even make your eyes look a little bigger/doll-like. Whenever I line my waterline/beneath my eyes, I always, always smudge it out with some black eye shadow.

Foundation gives you acne

I’ve been wearing foundation for a long time and I’ve never found that it has caused acne – ever. If you think your foundation is causing acne, you are perhaps not using the right foundation (sometimes it’s better to spend a bit more money on a good, long lasting product such as foundation), are using too much (I don’t use foundation all over my face, only on the areas which I feel need foundation), or you’re not cleaning it off properly at night!! (Afterall it doesn’t necessarily unclog pores – and although will not exactly cause acne, is not going to help it either!)

Test your foundation on your hands/wrists

Think about it, we use foundation on our faces… why would we test it on our hands/wrists? When testing foundation – test it on your face and also your jawline to make sure that it can blend into your neck. My face, neck and jawline are pretty much all pretty close in colour, so wearing the right foundation colour has never really been too much of a problem for me before.

Yeah, I’m loving these shoes. I love the leopard print as I truly feel it can spice up an outfit. (:
