I can’t believe it has been two months since my last outfit post. It’s weird because when choosing a student flat, one criteria at the back of my mind was picking a room with space for outfit photos, and even given this, my tripod has still been collecting dust all term. I have decided to attempt to revert a little bit back to my sixth form self, in the sense that – in sixth form I genuinely cared a lot more about about how I looked and what I wore. I would put a lot more thought into my outfits and you’d never catch me without my nails painted and earrings on. Now, I’m just so lazy; I barely ever wear earrings, I’ve probably painted my nails three times this term, and I tend to wear the same cycle of outfits to uni weekly. Of course there’s only so far back I can revert as in general, I have a lot less time to care, and I genuinely do care a lot less than I used to (at least on a day-to-day basis).
NEW LOOK Top, Shoes, Tights and Ring
LOVE LABEL Skirt (via the #VCSWAPSHOP)
As for this outfit, there are two things here that I love – a pop of colour to an outfit, and a turtleneck top. I have always, always loved turtleneck tops, but there was a period when I was younger and in secondary school that turtlenecks were ‘uncool’. However, suddenly this year turtlenecks have truly come back into style, and this black one I have been wearing a lot. Ideally I would like to get turtleneck tops in a couple different colours, but that all depends on how far my student account will stretch.
I swapped an item in my closet for this blue skirt at the Voucher Codes Swap Shop and I’m so happy I did. Royal blue and burgundy are probably my two favourite ways of adding colour to an outfit.
I’m back home now for the Christmas, so should hopefully be getting more frequent posts up! Of course I have a disgusting amount of work to do (what’s new), but will try my best to be a lot more active than I am during term time!
Side note: Make sure you check out a recent interview I did on caring for your skin with Biconi here!
That skirt is such a lovely colour – and it looks amazing on you! It’s a really confident colour and looks great with the jewellery! I love turtlenecks, but I’m a bit on the chunky side so I can’t pull them off. I’ve seen some great outfits with turtlenecks this season, they’re really nice.
