#MidweekMotivation – Getting off the downward spiral of unhappiness

I started off this final academic year really quite sad and also quite unsettled/nervous about the year ahead. I guess for the most part I felt as though my life had been thrown ‘off balance’, and a few things were hitting me left right and center that for a while, I really allowed myself to spiral down into a state of spending 60% of the time feeling upset (I’ll touch on this a little more in my end-of-year breakdown post). It was around this time that I discovered the power of positivity, and a couple months down the line, I’ve reached a point where I am in one of the most relaxed and happiest places I’ve been in for a while. For this week’s #midweekmotivation, here are a few tips to get yourself off that spiral, and to get you to learn how to own your own happiness.

#MidweekMotivation – The Law of Attraction

Did you know, if you think you’re pregnant, even when you’re not, your body starts to show pregnancy symptoms? It’s a similar reason for why during pre-drinks, when you probably really aren’t that drunk, you start to believe you’re drunker than you are. The mind really is insanely powerful. A few years ago, I went through a period where I was really fascinated in watching all of Derren Brown’s specials. Recently, I introduced some of these specials to my boyfriend. One of our favourites was called “The Heist” – Derren Brown managed, through mind control, to induce three professionals into believing it was acceptable to rob someone of £10,000, through various techniques such as the belief of that they were powerful and attaching this to actions and music; it really got me thinking about The Law of Attraction – which is as simple as “if you believe you can, you will.”
