Recently I was contacted by Lands’ End and asked if I’d like to take part in their Mother’s Day campaign. The concept it simple – you choose some clothes from their website, and style your mum.
My mum’s style has definitely evolved over the years, she’s gone from long skirts and plain tops, to bright colours, jeans and leggings. Recently, I feel as though me and my mum have started to appreciate eachothers’ styles a lot more, as back in my secondary school days it was a very regular occurrence for my mum to seriously question what I was going out in, and for me to think she “just doesn’t understand.”
For the styling, I kept things fairly simple; for the most part, my mum is a lover of bright colours and patterns, but occasionally she keeps things quite muted. The dress I chose as I feel the shape would stand out on my mum’s body type, I matched it up with heels as, given she’s not going to work, my mum lives in them. I accessorized with this cream bag (that I would personally like in my wardrobe), and some jewellery.
Nowww, I’m off to get ready to go out to the after party of a ball. I’m actually quite excited, it’s truly been a while since I’ve dressed up in a dress and heels – back in sixth form I’d somehow manage to do this for every party.
Enjoy your party! The dress and bag you’ve picked out are amazing. The dress is very elegant in a simple way, it could work for almost any situation!
The dress looks like a “separate;” blouse tucked into skirt. It is very unique and pretty. Great choice of accessories too.
Lovely post and I really like the bag it looks perfect as a mothers day gift x
