A belated Merry Christmas to you all. 😉 In the last week before year-end, I will be doing 5 posts over 5 days! All just rounding up the year just passed, and also looking forward to the year ahead. First up, I’m taking a look back at 5 of my favourite fashion posts/looks of the year. 2015 was the first time I ventured outside my room for outfit photos and in 2016, I started getting my good friend Andre to help shoot photos for me on his DSLR. This is what I did for the majority of the year, however after we graduated it became a lot harder to organise to do this on a frequent basis, so I bit the bullet and hired a photograpaher. I’d started a new job, had a bit more cash in my pocket, and thought – let me just invest in myself, it’ll pay off in the long run…
Another change I made was to switch up my wardrobe. Sometimes I look back on my photos even 6 months back and think about how uninteresting they were. Not that I’m now some dare-devil fashionista, but I definitely put a bit more thought into my outfits now and how I can make them interesting, and just generally more (my idea) of stylish. Since hiring a photographer and switching up my style, I have seen a very impressive/unexpected growth for Skylish both here and over on Instagram. I’m excited to continue growing this in 2017 and just seeing where it can take me!
Unsurprisingly, a lot of my favourite outfits are post hiring and photographer and switching up my wardrobe!
Love the shirt dress! It’s gorgeous and its color looks amazing on you. Loved the way you styled– with those boots!
Happy Holidays !
I loove the monochrome look best! You have a good style sense!❤️
Ooo, it definitely will pay off in the long run. I think you’ve got awesome style and I am always loving your photos! Sometimes it’s not the outfits but the person and you definitely give the clothes much more than what they are if that makes sense! 😀 Good luck in 2017, looking forward in following your journey!
