As the weather begins to warm up, we’re all dreaming about jetting off away on holiday, whether it’s a funky skiing holiday or a sun, sea and sand-filled adventure. For those of us who are not blessed with a bottomless purse however, the budget holiday seems ideal – particularly with the plethora of cheap flights available to us from providers such as Ryanair. We all know though that these often come with very small baggage allowances – so how can we manage to pack all of our signature looks into one bag? Here are a few hints and tips on how you can travel light and still look fabulous.

If you’re braving the slopes this spring, one thing that you’ll have to be aware of is looking after your skin. Many people neglect their skin when skiing, forgetting that the dangers of sunburn can be bad – if not worse – out in snowy climates. Try a little foundation with sun protection factor, such as this Stay Perfect Foundation from No 7, topped up with a little lip balm to keep your lips protected against the chilly air. There’s no need to focus on your eyes here – let your ski goggles do the talking!
Many of us make the faux pas of hitting the beach with a full face of make up, only to be faced with the elements, from sea hair to sand in our pants! To create your very own sand-kissed goddess, all you need is a little bronzing oil, such as this Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil from the Body Shop. If you want that beach babe look for your hair too, all you need is a little Sea Spray from Lush – simply spray, squidge and let Mother Nature do the rest.
We all remember just how stunning Sharon Stone looked in Casino back in 1995. While some of us may turn to Gaming Club for a little poker-themed inspiration, others of us know the secrets of a good make up bag to make us have eternal youth a la Sharon. Remember ladies – less is more, so pick either your lips or your eyes and stick to it. To really capture that Hollywood glam however, I’d advise sticking to dramatic red lipstick like this gorgeous femme fatale red from Mac.
Whatever type of holiday you’re going for, you can certainly do without having to overload your suitcase – just make sure to label up all liquids if you take them in your carry on!
