My MAC foundation ran out a little while ago, so I went into Superdrug, headed straight for the Sleek section, and came out with their Bare Skin Foundation. Sleek is 100% my favourite drug store brand, their products are super affordable and have never, ever let me down. This foundation is just another to add to my mantel of much loved Sleek products.
Sleek Bare Skin Foundation – £8.99
Finding a deep foundation is near impossible in high street stores like Superdrug or Boots. Most brands do have them, but often they’re not stocked in store (or are only stocked in a select few stores, barely ever in any stores I go to), and you’re only route to picking these foundations up is usually to buy them online. I was surprised that this was also the case in a place as diverse at central London, where I live for university, but I genuinely knew that Sleek would not disappoint me. On display in store they had a range of tones for this foundation, all the way from the lightest colour you could imagine, to the deepest. I swatched a few and left with the colour Terracotta 383.
The packaging is pretty simple, but definitely quite ‘polished’ and not at all cheap looking. The foundation is applied using a pump, which is again perfect as you can get out a well controlled amount. On to the foundation itself, the coverage is light (as is says on the bottle), however it is very buildable. Even though the coverage is light I’ve still be limiting the amount I use, as one day I decided it would be a good idea to go for two pumps – and my face looked like plastic.
It is so easy to blend, I cannot emphasize this enough. It may well be the most blendable foundation I have ever used in my life. Andddd – it lasts! I wouldn’t say it would last as long as a high-end expensive foundation, but for its price, and topped up with a powder, it is pretty impressive. What I love about Sleek foundations that I have not been able to find in any other liquid foundation I have tried out is the dewy finish they give your skin.
Anyhowww. I’m on to my last week of uni for this term. As much as I love uni I’m very ready for the Christmas; I’m just absolutely exhausted, I feel as though I’ve ran out of steam and it’s becoming increasingly hard for me to stay motivated and keep up with my work. I just need the Christmas break where I don’t have to travel back and forth to uni, sit in two hours lectures and worry about my grocery shopping, what I’m going to eat and how much money I don’t have in my account.
Lovely review 🙂 great I noticed this after you commented on my sleek review ha,ha! Sounds like it has worked great for you and it does blend really nicely! I can’t get over how good this is, especially for the price and I do find it similar to Nars Sheer Glow xx
