In this tutorial I will take you on a step by step guide in creating floral brushes. It's a different technique, but it works well and anyone can do it.

To begin with, find an image you want to make into a floral brush. You can find little snippets anywhere! Wallpapers, clothes - just take the picture and transfer it onto your computer. I'm using this image.

Paste your image into Paint Shop Pro, then take tool, and match your settings to mine:

Selection type: Point to point
Mode: Replace
Feather: 0
Smoothing: 10
Anti-alias

Use this tool to trace around the main shape on your image, don't worry about making it perfect, because the high amount of 'smoothing' sorts out bad and choppy corners.

After you've trace your image, go to Adjust > Brightness and Contrast > Brightness/Contrast and set the Brightness to -225.

To finish off, duplicate the second layer twice, and using tool, reshape, resize and rotate the top two layers and frame them around you second layer. My final result is show below.

Remember, anyone can do this. You just have to find a pattern you like (my house walls happen to have a lot of flowers on them), take a picture of it, transfer it onto your computer and follow this tutorial. :]
