In this tutorial I will teach you how to make advance light spot textures via Paint Shop Pro. What differs this light spot texture tutorial that the other will be the different layers and colour enhancements. Contact me if you need any more help and link back if you find it to be helpful.
To begin with open up an image on paint shop pro, adjust the image to whatever size you want your texture to be. My image is sized 834 x 481. Fill the image with a solid color of black.
Duplicate your base layer. Select the brush tool and match your settings to mine below:Shape: Circle
Size: 95
Hardness: 90
Step: 200
Density: 100
Thickness: 100
Opacity: 100
Use this to draw some circles on your blank canvas. You can drag it due to the high step value. The colours I'm using are #3A4B58.
After, take (
) tool and use it to stretch the image we've just created, like seen on the left. Set the layer to 30%.
Duplicate that layer and go to Image > Mirror and following that Image > Flip, set the duplicate to Dodge at 74%.
Then merge all of your layers together. After you've done this, take the brush tool again and match your settings to mine below:
Shape: Circle
Hardness: 95
Step: 200
Density: 100
Thickness: 100
Opacity: 100
Use this to draw some more circles on your texture. Use a range of colours and sizes; think about the composition as your image as you do this - it's no use just splattering on a bunch of brushes. Set this raster layer to Normal at 50% and then merge all of your layers together.
Now finally to add the finishing touches. Firstly, duplicate you image and set it to hardlight at 50% - merge together your layers. After, create a new raster layer and using the brush tool at a size of 200 and a Hardness of 0 add some spots onto your image; set the layer to Overly at 60%
Merge all of your layers together again, then duplicate the base go, go to Mirror > Flip and set the duplicate to Screen at 14%.
Merge together your layers one last time and with that, your light texture is complete. :)
