In this tutorial I will take you on a step by step guide to creating the an icon similar to the icon displayed on the left. The icon displayed on the left was extremely quick and easy to make, the words "You got it? GOOD. Let's dance!" were stuck in my head after seeing Janet Jackson on The X Factor. I can't get over that quote. Michael Jackson also says it in this video whilst performing Dangerous Live.
Next, take any random picture and paste it onto PSP as a new image. Any picture at all. The picture I'm using can be seen here (from images.fanpop.com).
- Duplicate your base layer, set it to Hardlight at 100%.
- Duplicate the hardlight layer, set it to Screen at 100%.
- Merge all of your layers.
- Create a new raster layer, fill it with #01AEE7, set it to Soft Light at 100%.
- Merge all of your layers.
- Duplicate your base layer and set it to Soft Light at 100%.
- Merge all of your layers.
- Go to Adjust > Brightness and Contrast > Brightness/Contrast. Change the Brightness to -70, and the Contrast to 0.
Minimize the image of Beyonce and return to your original image. Copy the Raster layer of text that we created earlier (CTRL+C), then delete it. Press CTRL+E to repaste it again; the only difference is that it should now have lines around it. Take your brush tool and click on your colour pallet, select the patterns tab and choose the image of Beyonce, after, press OK. Simply colour in your text, a nice pattern should appear over it.
Once you're happy with it press CTRL+D to lock it into place. This icon is a simple icon - therefore we no longer edit it.
