In this tutorial I will take you on a step by step guide to creating the an icon similar to the icon displayed on the left. The icon displayed on the left was extremely quick and easy to make. The quote used on the icon is taken from Miley Cyrus' song 'The Climb' (which is now also sung by the recent X Factor winner - Joe McElderry).

Noise: 50%
Set that layer to Normal at 14%, then merge together all of your layers.

Line Style: Solid
Segment type: Point to point
All you do it click where you want the line to start, and drag it down so that it makes a stripe: stripe your whole icon. Right click the vector layer and convert it to raster layer, then set that raster layer to Soft Light at 100%. Merge all of your layers together.

Shape: Rounded Rectangle
Create as vector, Anti-alias
Use this to draw a box into the middle which will contain your text. After you've drawn it go to Effect > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow and match your settings to mine below:
Verticle and Horizontal: 1
Opacity: 55
Blur: 0.00
Colour: Black
Press OK then merge together all of your layers.
Create a new raster layer and use it to hold of your text. Use (
) tool to rotate the text (if wanted).After, create another new raster layer and drag it underneath the raster layer containing your text. Take (
) tool and match your settings to mine below:Selection type: Point to point
Mode: Replace
Feather: 0
Smoothing: 0
Anti-Alias
Simply trace around your words, it doesn't have to be neat or exact. Once you've traced take the brush tool at a colour of white and colour it in. Go to Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow, and drop shadow this using the same settings as earlier on. Press OK and CTRL+D to lock the dots into place. Set that layer to Normal at 50%.
Merge together all of your layers and you're done!
