May 12 // I guess I’m on some type of hiatus until May 25. I’m going to call it a ‘break’ like in Friends, get my exams done, have a breather, and regain my passion for this in a few weeks. I am still updating over at my beauty blog.

I noticed some minutes ago that I haven’t blogged in almost a month. An explanation? I told myself I wouldn’t blog until I returned all the comments from my past six (now seven) blogs… and I still haven’t. I have exams coming up in a month… so I’m going to cut myself some slack… hehh… I revived this blog post I wrote before I told myself I wouldn’t blog until I returned comments. :3 H’enjoy:

As I am writing this, a few minutes ago I was downstairs in the kitchen expressing to my little brother why I was annoyed. On the kitchen counter I saw two packs of playing cards, they were special ‘Disney 20th anniversary‘ playing cards that had come free after shopping at Morrisons. Looking through the deck, it reminded me of the days I use to play with Pokemon cards.

My primary school went through different crazes: Pokemon cards, Bayblades, alien babies and a bunch of different toys that are now popping into my mind whose names I can’t even remember. I always joined in with the crazes. I never actually asked my parents to buy me Pokemon cards, but through cousins, friends and sympathy I eventually racked up a pretty good deck of cards.

There was one day where our teachers decided they had had enough of Pokemon cards. These cards disrupted kids’ learning in class, and were the cause of endless fights, arguments and tears. It was official: they were banned (as all of these games would always eventually became). We were made to hand our cards into our ‘year’ teachers at the end of lunchtime. However, they really only asked the boys specifically to hand them in, as they led the craze. All of us girls only had one thing telling us to hands ours in, and that was guilt.

I felt so bad at first when I didn’t hand mine in – what if they fell out of my pocket? What if someone told off of me? The nine year old me couldn’t handle the stress, so I eventually also handed my deck in. Our teacher sealed each of them separately and put them on a table; at the end of the day we would be allowed to collect them again.

When I came to collect my sicckkk deck…

IT WAS GONE!!!

I looked all over that class that day, before I finally admitted to myself that someone had <strng>stolen my deck. As they would, as it was a really good deck, hehe. I was sooo crushed. I picked up the next best thing, and that day gave up my craze of Pokemon cards foreverrrr.

The end.

I tend to wake up early on Saturday’s just because my body becomes used to it during the week. Yesterday I woke up at 6.27, a whole THREE MINUTES before the time my alarm would usually wake me up and I’d walk around the house like a zombie, getting ready for school. I quickly went back to sleep, and woke up again around half eight; then I stayed in bed for an hour on my phone, thinking about lifeeeee.

I suddenly remembered that the day before, while at a friend’s house, I had at some point stood up from their bed and had to pull my school skirt down as it had awkwardly risen up. That quickly flashed me to the pastttt. And I have told this story before, but I’ll tell it again.

It was during Year 10, so it would have been the year I turned fifteen. Seems youngish for some reason, maybe because that’s how old my little brother will be in two weeks (AND I’LL BE 17 ON MONDAY! DRIVING LESSONS YEYUUUH!) We were in IT, and the lesson had just finished; I was standing up, my bag packed, ready for the bell to go that would signal it was time to rush down to the canteen and pick up a breakfast snack. I noticed that my skirt felt a bit loose… but ah well, I would make sure it was alright later.

Then suddenly, I felt an unusual breeze… and I looked down to find my skirt had fallen off?!?! I was wearing tights, so it was not too embarrassing, but I was literally so. confused. My skirt had fallen off, and I hadn’t noticed it? Quickly, I pulled it back up, then I stared around me to see if anyone had noticed. Two guys stood behind me with looks on their face that read, ‘did that just happen?!‘. But then the bell went, and I told them we should just keep that between ourselves, then boosted off.

One of the guys tried to tell people what had happened later on, but I just said, “yeah… right, my skirt fell down!“, and nobody believed him hehe. I did tell a few of my friends about the embarrassing story though.

Looking back on it now, it was not so much an embarrassing moment of my life… rather a really strange, quite funny moment, haha.

Heyy thur. My title is ‘I’m Back?’, as I have been pretty much MIA on this site for a while, and it’s all down to the usual reasons: school, school, more school and my shop. A few crappy times… but now – all is gooood!

I’ve got a new layout up! And it’s <ins>about time</ins>; I put my last layout up during the Summer, and that was clearly quite a while ago. The idea for this layout came one day when I was laying down – I looked onto my bedside table and saw the picture frame that was on it at the time (which I have now relocated to my desk 8-]), and this drew itself into my mind. All of the rotating pictures are based off of real pictures of me and my friends.

I’ve been working on this one for a while, and not because it was going to be a mind-blowing, never before seen layout of epic-ness… but just because of the amount of time I had to work on it was limited. I never expected that A Levels would take up this much of my time, and make me so tired that a lot of my time is also spent sleeping.

Enoughhhh repetitiveness! Let me know your thoughts on the layout! I haven’t browser tested it yet… so let me know how it looks in your browsers too.

PEACEEEE. ♥

It seems people in my school don’t learn from others’ mistakes.

For anyone that has seen Facebook Parenting: For the troubled teen, one thing you’ll take away from that is to be careful what you post online. As soon as you post something on Facebook (or Twitter or other social networking sites) it’s likely that at least one person will see it, even if you decide to delete it a second later. We all need to be careful what we post online – nothing is reallyyy private if you post it online, which is why sometimes I’ll tell a friend that rather than text them or Facebook chat them something, I’ll just tell them in person. It is also why I’ll be careful with how I word this post, hehe…

A year or so ago I read a blog post about someone saying their boss had gone on their Facebook and been upset with some of the things they had seen. My initial reaction was – “Whaa? If the person shows up to work, and works well, whose business is it what they do outside?” But posting something online <ins>makes</ins> it everyone’s business, and the fact is a lot of times these days, employers may look you up on Facebook before they hire you.

Someone at my school once made a Facebook group about how much they hated a teacher, the group tallied up 100+ members in one day, and of course this student was caught and suspended. Someone else made a group about an ex-student, the ex-student’s mum reported it to a teacher, the person who made the group was caught and suspended. The mum has screen-shotted the group, and as you know it shows a random selection of members, and those unlucky members were told off pretty badly – but not suspended.

A little while ago an ex-student wrote a public message to the teachers on a Facebook status – which was <ins>RUDE</ins>. It was so rude my mouth was literally an ‘O’ shape reading it, my hands were on either side of my cheeks, and my eyes were wide open. Those who commented ‘lol’, or ‘hahahaha jokes’… were suspended.

You’d think people would have learned by now?

Someone recently posted a video online where he’s calling a teacher some… not very nice things. I’m pretty he’ll get caught and suspended. How do the teachers find out? Well much like how they found out about our years’ last day plans, there’s someone on Facebook who screenshots the shiz and shows it to the them. We all know who it is… yet people continue to get themselves into trouble.

Be careful what you post online! forreaall

Today my teacher in English asked us what we thought about ‘coming of age‘ in relation to the book we were reading. If life was a cartoon, a tumbleweed would have rolled cross the class. But then she asked us what the name of Beyonce’s baby was, and all at once, everybody came alive and said “Blue Ivy!” Someone on my table after a while asked why Beyonce’s married to Jay Z: “she’s so hot!” And I said, “it’s not all about looks.”

And then I was attacked!
BOMBARDED!

I joke, she just said (“she” is my friend by the way), “<ins>IT IS!</ins>” And then proceeded to ask everyone on our table what the first thing is they notice in a guy or girl out of the choices of ‘looks or personality’ (cos yeno… you can notice personality when you look at someone… ) After everyone obviously answered ‘looks‘, I explained my theory.

This is my theory: of course, to like someone you have to be attracted to them, not just their personality, but also their looks. BUT – you can be the hottest person in the world, have the worst personality ever, and it means jack shiz.

There’s this guy that I once knew through a series of ‘hellos’ and smiles when we passed each other, we never really got to know each other. One day, I was on a bus, and he got on. This was my chanceeee! I was going to be on that bus for another four or so stops – this would be a chance to get to talk, even if it was only for a short while. By the time that short while was over, I couldn’t wait to get off of the bus. I’m sure it was maybe due to the short amount of time, but this guys personality was… not as it had been in my head… lol.

The moral of the story is: you can be the hottest piece of hottness in the world – but if the personality doesn’t match – it doesn’t account for much.

Suuppp!

I guess this must be a record for the longest I’ve ever gone without blogging. And I’m not even going to blame school this time, I’m blaming my pure lazyness. My weekdays go like this: I wake up, go to school, come home (where I first respond to e-mails, work on orders etc…), catch up on TV shows, sleep, sleep, …sleep some more, eat, do a couple of hours of work, watch Big Brother anddd… <ins>sleep</ins>.

… Then I do it all again the next day. Basically – I’m ALWAYS tired. I want to try and come up with some kind of schedule for school work, life and online shiz – as I do miss blogging.

But this is what I wanted to share:
I’M CHALLENGING MYSELF.

Awyeuh! On Monday I handed in my application form to become head/vice girl/senior prefect. Originally when they told us about it, I knew applicants were going to have to do a speech in front of our year group; so I decided I would not go for it as I imagined myself to be stressed and nervous. But then one of my friends, who had felt like me before, decided to go for it, and I decided if she could get over it, so could I.

I truly don’t think I’ll get it; it’s a long process that involves a whole lot more than just doing this speech in front of your year group (such as a teacher survey on each applicant ). But now that I’m in it, I’m going to work really hard to get it – and nonetheless it’ll be a good, character building experience.

Wish me luck?

Food smells good downstairs. And I have to get back to work on my English coursework where I’m currently telling the unlucky reader about a patriarchal society. Good bye for now, and hopefully not for too long this time… heh.

Another year of The Large Chunky (Skylish) Quiz has come and gone! The results should have been up last weekend, but school started last Wednesday, and I have a chemistry exam on Friday, so that explains that. The winner was Jess!! She got 9 out of the 11 questions correct. *Honourable* mentions to Jessica and Ashley, also with nine points, but later comments. Answers below, a mini blog underneath. Seeee ya next year for my Skylish Quiz of the Year 2012. Woop!

Jess! I will contact you as soon as I have time (probably tomorrow or Friday), with details on your prizes. Jessica and Ashley will win advertising for their second and third places.

1. The most discussed event on Twitter this year, with the most tweets per second, was when Beyonce announced her birth at the VMAs.
2. The major city in which the UK riots begun this year was London. The Tesco Value Basmatti rice was looted. Google the picture, it’s hilarious.
3. Adele had the highest selling album of 2011 with 21.
4. The picture was of Pippa Middleton, she was talked about a lot this year… because of DAT ASS. Haha.
5. Harold Camping predicted the rapture to happen in May. It obvss didn’t happen.
6. Ted Williams was a homeless man, who was discovered and given a job after a video of him went viral on YouTube.

7. I opened up my beauty blog in August 2011.
8. Painting, Bedroom, Cloud Nine, Magazine – the odd one out is bedroom, as I never had a layout for Skylish up based on that. Although, it was a freebie. Yeee I wanted to trick you.
9. I wrote a story called Live and Let Lie last year, the main character was called Adrienne.

There ya go.

School has started again, so I am therefore very busy again. I am still working on my new layout (slowly) and have an absolute aim to get it up by the end of the month.

I find that now that we’re older, there is a lot less petty drama going on in school – which was one thing that always pissed me off about school. (For eg: “OMAGAH SHE CUT HER HAIR SHORT LET’S DISCUSS THIS FOR TWO DAYS YE?”) The main thing annoying me about school now is having to wake up earlyyy. To put it in a nutshell, I am always tired… <ins>always</ins>.

How is school going for everybody else?

COMMENTS ARE OFF. (I’ll blog again later on with a blog competition – you can win advertising and/or anything from my shop for free).

As I write this it’s almost 3am on January 2nd 2012. And as I do every yearrrr, I’m going to do my New Year’s Resolutions! Reflecting on 2011 – it was a good year, nothing <ins>bad</ins> happened to me, and relating to my last blog, there were one or two events this year that I will remember for the rest of my life. But, I do hope 2012 is an even better year! Life is what you make it! And I do have a good feeling about 2012.

Later on today, or tomorrow, I will be doing my Large, Chunky Skylish Quiz of 2011. PRIZES TO BE WON.

My 2011 Resolutions:

Get some better friends.

Haha, I do remember what I was getting at when I wrote this, as it does sound pretty crazy. This year I think I’ve learned who my friends are that I am sure will stick around for a longg time. Some close friends have become closer. Some friends I am no longer friends with – and – seeing as we got of new people for Sixth Form this year, I have made a lot of nice new friends too! Some of these that I have an feeling (I won’t say anything too early), will become some very good friends of mine for years to come. Achieved.

Achieve all As and A*s in my GCSEs.

Achieved.

Complain less when my parent’s ask me to do things.

Failed. This has been my resolution for two years now – will I ever achieve it? Hahaha.

Neaten my room every night.

Achieved 120%. I completely redecorated my room when procrastinating for my GCSEs, and it looks sexay.

Blog more often and spend longer on graphics

Blog more often? Failed. Spend longer on graphics? Achieved. I am even more of a perfectionist, but this helps me to create better designs! And this is why a new layout is still not up yet, lol… but I am working hard on it…

My 2012 Resolutions:

TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING!!

I realise that I never capture my memories, I instead wait for other people to capture them for me. Then I wait for them to put these memories on Facebook. Then I usually end up asking, “where’s picture ‘A’?”, and they tell me it’s an ugly one of them – and, well, it’s kinda annoying.

All As in my AS Level exams this year?

– Aiming too high? I dunno, A Levels are on a different scale to GCSEs, but hey, why not just put it on my list and see how things go.

Continue to grow in terms of confidence

– I feel like I have so much more confidence now than I’ve ever had before, so I’m pretty happy, but I think, especially when it comes to meeting new people, I still have some way to go. Here’s for 2012.

Do more exercise

– And I’m no longer counting my 15 minute walk to school everyday. Even for the last three days of school this year, I… took the bus! DD:

Build Skylish even more

– Open up a writings website, continue to work hard on my Beauty Blog and Shop, really just continue to try and improve ‘Skylish’.

Seems like that’s all I can come up with. It’ll be interesting to come back in 2013 to see which of these I have achieved!

Happy New Year homiess.

Sunday is January 1st 2012! I can’t believe how quickly another year has flown by! It does feel like each year goes by quicker than the last, and I think it’s because each year you have more on your plate. So a lot of your time is spent awaiting certain days, and before you know it, it’s Christmas… if I’m making any sense? All I know is when I was younger, one year seemed to last for <ins>foreeverr</ins>.

But you know what 2012 means… Nu Year Nu MEe x0x. Lol, I joke, but I do like to set New Year’s Resolutions each year, I also like to see how many resolutions I managed to keep up with from the year before. But until then, here’s in my 2011 in 500 words.

2011 hasn’t been a bad year, but it’s not going to be a year I’ll always remember. Half of it was spent stressing over my GCSEs. One of the most memorable things I did this year was go to the V Festival. Festivals are SO hyped up in my school – whether it’s V, Reading or Wireless. So I felt pretty cool to be going to a festival. I used about £80 of my saved up money (that I could have spent on clothes js) to pay for this festival. The performances were good. But! Were they worth being pushed around in a crowd of smelly, sweaty people? Was hearing Jessie J in the flesh worth having to attempt to matrix-style dodge drinks and beach balls being thrown around the crowd?

No.

Will I go back?

<bg>Hail naw!

One of the most important moments of 2011 (can’t miss this out)… I took my GCSEs. And if you know anything about my family, you’d understand that I was under stress. But, they really weren’t as bad as I thought they would be. And did really well in the end. So I guess it ain’t a thang but a chicken wing.

Every year I learn more about myself and about the kind of person I want to be. I also feel like this year I gained a lot of confidence. So in that sense, I have gained a lot.

I also turned sixteen this year! This is really only a big deal in the UK because of shows such as ‘My Super Sweet 16′ – ideally it shouldn’t be, I mean we’re still not old enough to drive or even to start learning to drive. Being sixteen only means that we’re legally aloud to buy lottery tickets duh.

Hah. I keep cracking that joke because I find it so hilarious.

Have a good new year guysss. Here’s hoping that I will blog and update more in 2012. Hehe. I will point out though that I’d am very active in regards to my shop, I also made a free theme last week and am working on a new layout to be up by the end of January. So in the words on Ron Weasley: Yeah… I’m still here.
